This is
a collection of western ads and campaigns for
a variety western wear manufactures, Karman, Tem Tex, Western Fashions, Kenny
Rogers and Roper. These are publication ads for such magazines as Playboy, Sports
Illustrated, GQ, Seventeen, Glamour, and several western wear publication. Western
Horseman, Tac N' Togs, Cowboys & Indians, Horseman, Cowboys & Country,
Western Styles, and a variety of other Western oriented magazines.
My job was to create, design, and produce on a monthly basis clothing ads that
would attract retailers. So that the ultimate consumer would be able to purchase
this clothing within a variety of store locations. From independent Mom &
Pop stores to major chains across the country.
Also included in this portfolio is a variety of new covers and marketing pieces for a publication known as the Paint Horse Journal. This publication deals with breeders, of a type of horse known as the "Paint" horse. If you remember Bonanza and what Little Joe's horse looked like, that is a paint horse. The Indians were also partial to the Paint horse.
My job here was to help update the publication, make it more of a consumer oriented magizine. After all the Paint horse industry in a multi-billion dollar a year business. The Paint Horse Journal is a way for buyers and sellers of this beautiful breed of horse to stay in tune with the industry. Publishing show results of hundreds of horses each month, giving advice about everything from the care and feeding of your horse, to where you might be able to buy or sell horses.
My background in the Western type of industry begins in the late 70's. Where I was the Art Director for Karman Inc. Now known as Roper.
I hope you enjoy the ads, brochures, direct mail pieces, and logos for one of my favorite industries.
